DESCRIPTION:[cmsmasters_row][cmsmasters_column data_width=”1/1″][cmsmasters_text] \nThe passion for collecting has been the leitmotif which crosses and still nourishes the history of the antiquarian gallery “Il Mascherone”. \nThe founder Francesco Di Trapani\, in 1992 has opened his own space\, in the heart of Palermo at the aim to host art experts\, simple amateurs\, thus making available his skills as connoisseur with refined taste\, fascinated by the historical and documentary value of artifacts of antiques. \nSacred art artifacts\, pure gold wood\, important seventeenth-century paintings and fine furniture antiques as well as the fond for Sicilian majolica mark the history of the gallery\, which since the beginning to present time\, opts for fine antiques. \nThe research\, driven by a boundless passion\, of the beauty of the particular as well as the history of a object which tells of an entire era\,  the care and the importance given to the accuracy in the choice of each single piece exhibited\,has become over time a distinctive feature of Il Mascherone. \nToday\, the passion for the ancient is enriched with new contaminations to give life to a space in which antiques\, art\, history  meet the  exploration and   the research of new codes. \nLaura Francesca Di Trapani (daughter of the founder who currently runs the gallery) merges her professional knowledge as art critic and curator of family culture to create a versatile space\, where antiques always plays the main role\, mixing up with new passions to make known to visitors. \nIl Mascherone is also an elegant and important vintage costume jewelry of American and European brands\, moreover\, a part of the space is dedicated to small presentations and exhibitions by contemporary artists and special thematic events. \nA space that today represents the meeting point and the place where the ancient and the contemporary talk together\, emphasizing the belonging one in the other.
